ABOUT ABOUT

Come join Good on the Go for our eighth mission! This is the first event of this school year and we are making it extra special with two bus-loads! We will be meeting in the Paddy's Pizza parking lot for drop off and pick up will be at Hemming Plaza. For this trip, we ask that you wear comfortable footwear and be prepared to talk and read... a lot! Please bring a snack as we will not be stoping for lunch as a group. As always, donations are appreciated!

So, what will we be doing? September 27th marks the first day of Banned Books Week and Jacksonville has come together to celebrate the freedom of reading! Books from Winnie the Pooh, to Harry Potter, to Hunger Games, and even Where the Wild Things Are have all been on the infamous list. Good on the Go will be reading from these beloved books from our childhood to help these works live on. If you would like to bring one of your classicly questioned books to share, we would love to incorporate them that day!

Our booth will be themed around the book Where the Wild Things Are. If you would like to dress up like a Wild Thing or any other charcter from the infamous list, you are very much encouraged to do so. A Good on the Go shirt is alway welcome! We will need volunteers to help with getting people in our booth, taking pictures, reading, and just assisting the event coordinators. This will be a day to focus on the freedom of reading, we will make it a wonderful day!

Sign up as space is limited! Only the first 10 registered volunteers will be able to attend and ride the bus this trip (10 on the second round). Chaperone spots are available as well!

If this is your first project with us riding the Good on the Go Bus, you will need to download, complete, and bring the permission slip found at jaxgoodonthego.com to the day of the event.

If you have already had a ride with us, welcome back! You will not need to complete another form, we do keep all on file.

Parents and Gaurdians will recieve more details the day of the trip.
